Ian,

Great information! I was wondering if you would grant me permission to excerpt a few pieces of this for a book I'm writing for job seekers with a colleague in the careers industry. Of course, we'll attribute you however you like! We'd like to get it in the book soon...if you are not too busy, would love to hear from you! I love how you tracked your results and really gave job seekers food for thought on using this type of approach in their job search campaign.

Thanks!

Ian,

Really cool and who cares if you didn't think it up .. whats that old saying? "everything that you think of has been thought of before..." or something along those lines. I can see you are an influencer since I found this via twitter and a few of my twitmates have already commented well ahead of me. Will retweet for ya. Good Luck!

Again, I am this is fabulous! I am going to share it on Facebook if you don't mind!
This is the kind of stuff I encourage radio folks looking for jobs to do. In this economy and changing media usage, media job seekers, and everyone need to think out of the box!
kudos!

[...] As you might have heard by now, I got the job at Bazaarvoice. I’ll be their first Social Media Manager, and the work so far has been every bit as exciting and challenging as I had imagined. It was, literally, the “dream job” in “How I’m Using Facebook Ads to Find My Dream Job.” [...]

Nanette- I'm trying to make it. It might conflict with a birthday party, so we'll see.

Sue Anne- It's still working! I've spent about $150 total now and I've had 3 or 4 more interviews since the time of this post. So, yeah. Great results. Thanks!

Good luck! Glad your idea worked. I know some people would be willing to pay a recruiter several hundred dollars to either review their resume and/or rep them for a job search. $80 to get the type of results you've had so far is a really good investment.
